Prysmian Group will produce 770 km of submarine telecommunication cable for the Amazon region
Prysmian Group, the worldwide leader of the energy and telecommunication cables sector, is getting ready to produce 770 km of submarine telecommunication cables for the Norte Conectado project which is in the north of the Amazon region.
Prysmian Group will deliver the cable solutions in the second half of 2021.
Prysmian Group is getting ready to produce 770 km of submarine telecommunication cables for the Norte Conectado project which is tendered by Rede Nacional de Ensino e Pesquisa, RNP, a Brazilian internet provider, and which connects the city of Macapá, in the north of the Amazon region, to Santarém and Alenquer.
9.2 million homes will be provided with safe data flow
Prysmian Group will produce and supply 770 km of the high fiber optical submarine cables, with no MINISUB repeaters, which will provide a safe flow for the data traffic for 9.2 million homes, which will be installed as 4 different connections, and which is widely preferred, for the Norte Conectado project. Prysmian Group will deliver the cables that it will produce with the MINISUB solution, the most widely used submarine cable technology without repeaters in the world, at the high technology producing facility in Nordenham Germany in the second half of 2021.
