Türk Prysmian Kablo made environmental cleaning with its employees at Mudanya coast
Türk Prysmian Kablo organized a beach cleaning activity within the scope of its 2019 Sustainability efforts.
Türk Prysmian Kablo employees cleaned the beach in front of their factories in Mudanya, Bursa on Friday, November 22, with the motto “Blue is best suited to the sea.” and collected 320 kg of garbage from the beach in 2 hours. In addition to Mudanya Deputy Mayor Servet Usta, officials such as Mudanya District Police Chief Serdar Makineci and Coast Guard South Marmara Group Commander Major Serkan Kılıç participated in the beach cleaning activity.
Worldwide leader in energy and telecommunications cables industry Prysmian Group's Turkey operation Türk Prysmian Kablo within the scope of its sustainability efforts, organized a beach cleaning activity. Türk Prysmian Kablo being one of the few companies located by the sea in Turkey, with the aim of leaving a sustainable future natural heritage, purged from the trash the beach in front of the factory located in Mudanya with its employees.
The event was attended by 78 employees wearing equipment such as rakes, shovels and gloves, and 320 kg of plastic, cigarette butts, paper, glass and many garbage were collected in 2 hours. Mudanya Deputy Mayor Servet Usta, Mudanya District Police Chief Serdar Makineci, Coast Guard South Marmara Group Commander Major Serkan Kılıç and Mudanya Municipality Council Member Ali Polat also participated in the event and thanked Türk Prysmian Kablo for their support to Mudanya, where their factories are located.
They made the beach clean with their motto “Blue is best suited to the sea.”
Cinzia Farisè, CEO of Türk Prysmian Kablo, collecting garbage with employees by attending the cleaning event said “As we always say, we are not just a cable company. For 55 years, we continue to support Mudanya, where our factory is located, to offer our contribution and to add value. Today, with the participation of our volunteer employees, we had the opportunity to show our contribution to the environment, nature and sea of Mudanya again. I am very happy to have taken part in this event and contributed to environmental cleanliness.”
Aysun Kalmık, Human Resources Director of Türk Prysmian Kablo, who said that they started cleaning in front of the door because of the seafront location of their factories and added “Environment is one of the most important issues for us within the scope of our sustainability vision. We have entrusted our nature to future generations. We need to take good care of this custody and protect it. We set out with the motto ‘Blue is best suited to the sea’ and for a more livable, beautiful and clean environment, we cleaned the beach in front of our factory with about 78 volunteer employees. We will have different activities in this context in the coming days.”
